This is the Masik Pass Ski Resort which is North Korea’s latest showcase to show off they can compete with the best. This ski resort is the product of ten months of intense labor which is comprised of ski runs, resort chalets and sleigh rides. Masik Pass ski resort was set to be fully operational and running by now, but reports tell a different story.

Apparently there are roughly only 5500 skiers in all of North Korea, but they hope to attract tourists to enjoy powder that has barely seen any human activity. With South Korea getting the Winter Olympics in 2018, I imagine they’re looking to score a good chunk of those tourists.

Four years is a long ways away so we’ll see what happens with that feisty little country in the meantime.
