20 Sep The 32 Bedroom Green Gables Estate Is For Sale In Silicon Valley
The Green Gables is well known estate in Woodside, California, sits in the heart of Silicon Valley on 74-acres of lavish living space. This estate is the creation of Mortimer Fleishhacker, a banker and founder of Anglo California Bank and the Great Western Power Company, put forth one of the most magnificent homes and grounds in America. Some of the following photos even had me second guessing if this was somewhere in Europe.
The gardens here are unlike anything I’ve ever seen in North America, and they definitely require a certain level of upkeep to say the least. There is a lot to explore out here and the Green Gables estate has been visited and enjoyed by royalty, senators, congressmen, governors, business leaders, and other creative luminaries since its inception in 1911.
Throughout those 74-acres you’ll find a couple roads, as well as woodland trails in which you can explore by foot, bike or horse. Needless to say, if you’re into jogging or walking you’ll never have to hike off property again. If you have a green thumb you can dive right into the flower and vegetable gardens on the estate. This place even has its own expansive reservoir which independently serves the estate’s irrigation needs.
The main estate is tastefully done with ample space, perfect for housing events or special guests as this place has for decades. The design inspiration is thanks to interior designer Elsie de Wolfe who selected and designed many of the furnishings. You can find her vision has been preserved to this day in three of the bedrooms, adding to the rich history this grand estate has.
Green Gables is now on the market for a price you would personally have to ask Zackary Wright about, because it is on request.
