08 Dec 2008 Vintage Mod Sélection Réserve and Mod Sélection Rosé Released
I know a few people who have been wanting to get their hands on a bottle or two of these 2008 Vintage from the winery that Drake is involved in. Each bottle is crafted and packed by hand, and that goes equally for their 2008 vintage that is about to hit the market. Collectors will be on the lookout for these bottles as they are from a year that is highly praised for being a fantastic harvest year. Food and wine legend Anthony Dias Blue recently gave some of their other vintages 98 points, which is damn near perfect.
The Mod Sélection wines have been described as beautifully crisp and bracing with layers of flavor; elegant, complex and long; pristine, balanced and precise, a magnificent wine. The 2008 vintage underwent the most delicate extraction of first press “coeur de cuvee,” rigorous control of fermentations, and use of the rare Rosé de Saignée production method have come together to create the purest expression of balance and terroir found in Champagne today.
The Mod Sélection Réserve Vintage 2008 will MSRP for $480 USD, and the Mod Sélection Rosé Vintage 2008 will be $550 USD. I’m not fully aware at this moment just when and where the bottles will be available from, but it looks like through their website and on ReserveBar.com soon enough. I imagine a few select stores in Toronto, LA and New York will have a few bottles on hand so let us know if you end up giving it a taste.
