12 May Meridian Watches Provide That English Charm
Meridian Watches may be a slightly new brand on the market but it has already been making some noise thanks to its talented creators and rising fan base. I thought I’d share with our readers a little about this English watch brand and showcase the wrist wear that will without a doubt be in the spotlight this year.
I for one instantly became a fan after running across a video by Ariel from ABlogToWatch.com which he did in November of last year. The craftsmanship and detail put into these watches is admirable and the over-all style is right up my alley.
Embodying the virtues of the great English timepieces of the past, all Meridian wristwatches are the result of hand-finishing techniques once threatened by automation. The care applied to every component that comprises a Meridian wristwatch extends to parts that will only be seen by the individual who assembled the watch itself.
// Meridian watches are Made In England -> For The World.
Within the handmade case is a movement finished with traditional English frosted surfaces, enhanced by bevelled edges, hand-engraving and hand-blued screws. All of which is done entirely by hand in their Norwich offices. The sandwich-construction dial has been produced entirely in-house, to serve as a background for the unique skeleton hours, minutes and seconds hands, also produced, colleted and painted in our Norwich atelier.
These watches are not a machine built concoction but the result of countless hours of hard work by veteran designer Simon Michlmayr. Details like the screws which are hand-blued in their workshop which resides in Norfolk. If they ever get a commercial done they should definitely look to Steve Coogan(Alan Partridge) to be apart of it…just saying.
The two hand stitched watch straps after a period of use conform to the exact shape of your wrist. Each and every watch is accompanied by two Meridian hex keys, and a small glass vial containing spare screws and strap bars. Every Meridian owner gets a ‘passport holder’ made by Smythson of Bond Street. The Meridian Prime is offered in three forms which includes brushed and satin-finished steel, hand-polished steel and Meridian Black.
